1. Why monitor note conditions and note circulation data?
It is essential that all organisations involved in cash distribution have accurate and timely information on note circulation so that they can manage their note inventories appropriately. In addition to this knowing the condition of notes in their inventory is an essential element in determining the stock levels to be held and also the ability to support note demands for ATM and recirculation purposes.    return to top

2. Can the solution be used on all denominations, issues, designs and note materials?
Yes ICS has designed the solution to work on any notes and materials in current circulation. If the note is being processed on systems then the ICS solution can be applied also.    return to top

3. What type of equipment can the ICS solution be deployed on?
Whilst the main benefit will be seen on large processing systems it is intended that the ICS technology can be applied to all equipment types and suppliers. Thus we see deployment into large note sorters note counters, note recirculation and dispensing equipment and self service deposit equipment. All of this independent of the vendors own detectors and software.    return to top

4. I already have a range of detectors on my systems why do I need this ICS offering?
Our research has shown that equipment detectors are subject to local modification and alteration. This has the effect of reducing the consistency of detection across an installed base of equipment since at each site and on each machine parameters and performance may well have been compromised. By having an independent, tamper proof detector ICS is able to provide a consistent and common detector package across all selected equipment to ensure that all systems, locations, equipment types etc are working to the same standard.    return to top

5. How will any information be made available?
ICS will manage a central secure store of information which will be available to customers on a secure basis via the internet.    return to top

6. How does the implementation of the ICS solution affect the service and warranty arrangements with the equipment vendor?
ICS will operate entirely independently of the equipment vendor and the deployment of the ICS solution will in no way impact the function or performance of the original equipment. It will support the operational management of the systems deployed but not impact them.    return to top

7. What will a customer need to do to access the information?
Each individual customer will have access to their information from their own IT systems and will be able to review their data and produce specific reports from a predetermined series of templates. The customer will require a compatible internet browser in order to enable this information to be delivered and accessed as required at site, region or central level.    return to top

8. How does the ICS offering work with existing Vault Management products?
ICS will operate independently of any existing Vault Management package to deliver independent reporting on note conditions and circulation data. It is seen as complimentary to rather than replacement of Vault Management and is designed to provide a consistent reporting capability over all equipment including that not currently managed under any Vault Management package.    return to top

9. How will information be stored?
ICS will use a proven and secure data warehousing partner with appropriate levels of system security to store data and provide the necessary back up support and facilities.    return to top

10. What level of maintenance will be required for the solution?
ICS will provide a maintenance plan for the solution but this will require minimal local intervention. The detectors will be factory configured and have built in self-calibration technology. In the event of any product problems, a replacement of the complete unit will be undertaken in accordance with the service agreement. All software will be managed by ICS with any upgrades issued centrally.    return to top
